A free in-home checkup is a no-pressure visit where we look at your home and your ductwork, talk through how you heat and cool, run and explain a load calculation, point out the rooms giving you trouble, and then lay out honest options at a few price points. There's no charge and no obligation.
What is a free in-home system checkup?
It's exactly what it sounds like: we come to you, look at your actual home, and give you a clear picture of where your heating and cooling stand. This is different from a price you'd get over the phone or from a website, which can't see your house — something we dig into in why AI can't tell you your HVAC price. The checkup is how we replace guesswork with a plan built around your home, your fuel, and your budget.
When should you book one?
A free checkup makes sense whenever you're facing a decision. Good times to call: your system is getting up there in years, your bills have crept up, some rooms never feel right, you've had a big repair quoted, or you're weighing whether to fix or replace. It's also smart when you've just bought an older country home and want to know what you're working with. If you're not sure whether it's time, repair vs. replace helps you think it through.
What happens during the visit?
We start by listening — what's comfortable, what isn't, and what you'd like to spend. Then we look at the equipment, the ductwork, and the airflow, and we talk about your fuel, since out here that's propane, electric, a heat pump, wood, or oil rather than natural gas. For a replacement we run a Manual J load calculation so any new system is sized to your home and our Zone 5A extremes, not a rule of thumb. You can read more about that in right-sizing HVAC for Zone 5A. We'll also pin down the rooms that run hot or cold and why.
What do you walk away with?
At the end you get straight options — usually a few, at different price points — with upfront pricing so there are no surprises, and financing available if you'd rather spread the cost. No pressure and no upsell games: we tell you what we'd do and what can wait. We're licensed, insured, EPA-certified, family-owned, and rated 5.0 across 10 Google reviews, and as a Daikin Authorized Dealer we're factory-trained on the equipment we install.
