This Privacy Policy explains how Weston Heating & Cooling, Inc. ("Weston Heating & Cooling," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit this website, contact us, request an estimate, or have us perform heating and cooling work. We are a family-owned HVAC company based in Unionville, Missouri, serving communities across Missouri and Iowa. By using this website or contacting us, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
Information we collect
We collect information in three ways:
Information you give us
- Your name, phone number, email address, and service or property address;
- Details about your home, equipment, and the heating or cooling work you're asking about;
- The content of your message, request, or inquiry, and scheduling or appointment details;
- Reviews, testimonials, photos, or other feedback you choose to submit;
- Billing and payment information if you become a customer (payment card details are handled by our payment processor, not stored by us).
Information we collect automatically
When you visit this website, we and our service providers may automatically collect technical and usage information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, links you click, the page that referred you, and general (approximate) location. See Cookies, analytics, and advertising below.
Information from other sources
We may receive information from service providers that help us run our business and from publicly available sources (for example, a review or map listing). We do not request sensitive information through this website (such as Social Security numbers, government IDs, or health or financial account numbers) — please don't send that through web forms or email.
How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your questions and provide estimates and quotes;
- Schedule, perform, document, and follow up on installation, repair, and maintenance work;
- Process payments, send invoices, and administer warranties and service plans;
- Send appointment confirmations, service reminders, and maintenance notices;
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve our website and services, and analyze how the site is used;
- Prevent fraud, spam, and abuse and protect the safety and rights of our customers, our team, and the public;
- Comply with legal, tax, accounting, and recordkeeping obligations; and
- With your consent where required, send promotions or offers you can opt out of at any time.
How we share information
We share personal information only in these limited circumstances:
- Service providers (processors) acting on our behalf, by category: website hosting and content-management platform; website analytics; payment processing; scheduling, customer-management (CRM), and lead-routing tools; email and text-messaging providers; spam- and fraud-prevention tools (such as reCAPTCHA); and financing partners (only if you choose to apply). These providers are permitted to use your information only to provide services to us.
- Legal and safety reasons, such as to comply with the law, a subpoena, or a lawful request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Weston Heating & Cooling, Inc., our customers, or others.
- Business transfers, if our business is sold, merged, or reorganized, in which case information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information. See the next section for details.
Do we sell or share your information? (CCPA/CPRA and similar laws)
- We do not sell your personal information for money.
- We do not knowingly "share" your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in exchange for money or other valuable consideration.
- We do not sell, rent, or share the mobile phone numbers or text-message consent we collect with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing.
Some privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (CCPA/CPRA) — define "sale" and "share" broadly, so that certain uses of analytics or advertising cookies can count as a "sale" or "share" even when no money changes hands. To the extent our use of those technologies is ever treated that way under applicable law, you can opt out using the cookie controls and the recognized opt-out preference signals described in Cookies, analytics, and advertising and Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control.
Your privacy rights and how to use them
Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of these rights:
- To know and access the personal information we hold about you;
- To request correction of inaccurate information;
- To request deletion of your personal information;
- To opt out of marketing communications;
- To opt out of any "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising (as those terms are defined by applicable law); and
- To not be denied service or otherwise discriminated against for exercising your rights.
California residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the rights listed above, including the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, and the right to request deletion or correction. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information.
Missouri and Iowa residents
We serve customers in Missouri and Iowa. As of the "Last updated" date above, Missouri has not enacted a comprehensive consumer data privacy law, and Iowa's Consumer Data Protection Act grants access, deletion, portability, and opt-out rights but applies only to businesses that meet certain size thresholds, which may not include us. Regardless of whether a particular law applies to us, we will honor reasonable requests from residents of the communities we serve to access or delete the information we hold about them and to opt out of our marketing.
How to exercise your rights
To make a request, contact us by phone at 660-947-3354, by email at [email protected], by mail at the address below, or through our contact page. To protect your information, we may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may use an authorized agent where the law permits. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (for California requests, generally within 45 days, with one extension where allowed).
Text messaging (SMS)
We will only send you text messages if you ask us to — for example, by giving us your mobile number and checking a text-message consent box on a form on this website, or by texting us first. We do not add anyone to text messaging without that opt-in.
If you opt in to text messages:
- You may receive messages related to your inquiry, estimates, appointments, service, and account, and — only if you separately agree — occasional promotions.
- Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to any message to opt out; reply HELP for help. Opting out of texts will not affect your ability to do business with us in other ways.
- Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of any purchase.
We do not sell or share your mobile information. Mobile phone numbers and text-message consent are not shared with, sold, or rented to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. Your number is disclosed only to the messaging providers that deliver the texts you requested on our behalf.
Cookies, analytics, and advertising
This website uses cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, to remember your preferences, to understand how the site is used, and to improve it.
- Analytics. We use standard website analytics, including Google Analytics delivered through Google Tag Manager, which set cookies and collect the usage information described above to help us understand site traffic and improve the experience. These tags are configured through our website platform.
- Security. Forms on this site may use Google reCAPTCHA to prevent spam and abuse. Your use of reCAPTCHA is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
- Advertising. We may use advertising or remarketing technologies to reach people who have visited our site. Where we do, those providers may set cookies; you can opt out using your browser controls and industry opt-out tools (for example, the Network Advertising Initiative and Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out pages).
Your choices. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's browser opt-out add-on. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for how to respond to DNT, we do not currently respond to DNT signals. Because we do not sell or share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, there is generally nothing to opt out of; where applicable law requires us to honor a recognized opt-out preference signal such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC), we will treat a valid signal as a request to opt out to the extent the law requires.
Children's privacy
Our website and services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy and to meet our legal, tax, accounting, warranty, and recordkeeping obligations, after which we delete or de-identify it. Retention periods vary by record type — for example, service and warranty records are typically kept longer than website inquiry logs.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure, and this website is served over encrypted HTTPS connections. However, no website or method of transmitting or storing information is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Third-party websites and services
Our website may link to third-party websites and services — for example, maps, equipment manufacturers, financing partners, social media, or review platforms. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with your information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and post the updated Policy here. Your continued use of this website after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Policy.
